Our Gentle Stretching class is based on relaxing and resetting your nervous system. If the muscles are tight, instead of stretching it, we shorten it, and the nervous system receives the message, and the motor neurons stop firing and muscle tension is released.
Prolonged stretching can pull your muscles and ligaments past the point of return, destabilising your joints and losing length or strength. Static stretching can temporarily reduce your muscles’ ability to contract, decreasing performance. Musculoskeletal pain, dysfunctional postures and movement, is more often caused by learned muscular pattern, so you can’t just address the symptoms by stretching, you have to work with the nervous system.
Our class works your whole body and releases that tension built up over time from stress and repetitive, strenuous activity.
This class is the perfect addition to a regular Bikram practice, it will allow you to get the most out of each class!
